Description
Drill Pin for Nuclear Density Testing
- What is a Drill Pin?
Our Drill Pin (Sometimes called a Nuke Pin) is a part of the Nuclear Density Testing process. It is pounded into the soil to make a hole for a Nuclear Density Gauge. It is guided perpendicular to the surface via the Scrape Plate, and then removed via the Drill Pin Extractor. You’re now ready for the Nuke Test.
- Will the Drill Pin bend or break?
Our Pins are mfg. as part of a Forging Process and hardened. Typically, they will not bend, but they will break. Continual use of pounding into the soil takes its toll on this brittle steel pin and it will ultimately require replacement.
